JAZZPAR Artists - Jacob Fischer
Jacob Fischer (DK), b. 1967, was part of Allan Botschinsky's JAZZPAR 95 Combo featuring Stan Sulzman and Prize Winner Chris Potter's JAZZPAR 2000 Septet.

Fischer is a widely recognized guitarist in Scandinavia. He has made "the grand slam" of local Danish awards. His playing ranges from R&B to contemporary jazz. He has not yet made a record in his own name but he appears on more than 50 CDs! One is Allan Botschinsky's The Bench from the JAZZPAR Project 1995. Fischer is constantly busy playing with top musicians from Europe as well as visitors like Toots Thilemans, Gary Bartz, Jerry Bergonzi, Lee Konitz, Scott Hamilton and John Abercrombie. Fischer's main inspirations include guitarist Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Pat Metheny, Jim Hall, Paco de Lucia and Ry Cooder; pianists Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly and saxophonist Sonny Rollins. Fischer plays with effortless ease and the melodic continuity that allows him to harmonize perfectly with groups of almost any style, while still sounding like himself. The versatile guitarist may also exhilarate blues aficionados with some dexterous bottleneck sliding.
