Lewis Nash (US), b. 1958, performed with Tommy Flanagan Trio and Windtet - Henrik Bolberg Pedersen (tp), Vincent Nilsson (leader, tenor hrn), Steen Hansen (tenor hrn), Jan zum Vohrde (as, fl), Uffe Markussen (ts, ss, b-cl), Flemming Madsen (bars, b-cl) - at the JAZZPAR 1993 Event.

   Elvin Jones, Roy Haynes, Art Taylor, and Al Foster are among the master drummers who at one time or another have worked with the Flanagan trio. Still, the piano player claims that he has never before experienced as close interplay as the one between him and Lewis Nash, now a permanent trio member. As a youngster Nash was the "first call" drummer of Phoenix, his native town. Since the beginning of the 80s he has toured and recorded extensively with many established as well as new stars. His playing is characterized by a rare and highly developed combination of intensity and taste.
