JAZZPAR Artists - Mads Vinding |
Mads Vinding (DK), b. December 7, 1948, participated in Martial Solal JAZZPAR 99 Trio with Daniel Hunair (d). Mads Vinding was no newcomer to the music world of Martial Solal, although about ten years had passed since they played together, Vinding at that time a member of The Radio Big Band. During the preliminary talks, the coming JAZZPAR 99 Prize Winner gave evidence that Vinding had impressed him - this to be appreciated as Solal's music is known to make heavy demands on the sidemen. Anyway, the bass player knew that he during JAZZPAR 1999 will get enough on his plate to keep him busy. But Mads Vinding is a musician to be reckoned with. He appears on more than 600 CDs and his own "The Kingdom (where nobody dies)" (Stunt) headed the yearly poll in the magazine Jazz Special as Best Danish Jazz CD 1997. |
