The Artists - Morten Lund

Morten Lund – Danish drummer, born September 13 1972 – was part of Prize Winner Enrico Rava's JAZZPAR 2002 Sextet.

Morten Lund graduated 1997 from the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He is considered one of the most exciting drummers on the Scandinavian jazz scene since the arrival of Alex Riel in the early 60s.
Based in Copenhagen, he is one of Denmark’s most in demand free-lance musicians. Lund is a member of about ten steady working Scandinavian bands.
The young Danish drummer has recorded more than 30 albums as a sideman, and has toured internationally and appeared at many festivals. Despite his young age, Morten has already played and recorded with top names such as James Moody, Johnny Griffin, Tom Harrell, John Abercrombie, Paquito D´Rivera, Benny Golson, Bob Mintzer, Deborah Brown, Kenny Werner, Jerry Bergonzi.
Morten Lund is like a high-wire performer. His playing may be witty yet always intense and watchful.
In the 60s it was NHØP and Alex Riel who accompanied the visiting American soloists – today it’s Lund and bassist Jesper Bodilsen. For years they have been partners, backing Danish and international soloists of high caliber.
